A Competition Integrating Artistic and Learning Skills
Vallalar Sanmarga Sangam, in collaboration with Asia Pacific University of Technology & Innovation (APU), is organizing this competition to enhance students' artistic and creative skills. This competition provides an opportunity for students to showcase their talents in art and animation.
Interested students must register online. Registered participants can take part in the competition in person at APU on May 3rd, 2025.
Category 1 – Coloring Competition
Students must color drawings that depict Sanmarga principles.
Category 2 – Portrait Drawing Competition
Students must use a pencil to draw a human face.
Categories 3, 4 & 5 – Computer Animation
Students (in teams of two) will create multimedia animations using text, images, sound, video, and animation tools.
The multimedia animations created by students should reflect Sanmarga principles such as love, compassion, kindness towards living beings, and non-violence.
Activity: Coloring Competition
- Students will be provided with a picture related to Sanmarga principles for colouring.
- The event is set to be held in person at Asia Pacific University on Saturday, May 3, 2025.
- Judging criteria: Creativity, neatness, and appropriate use of colors.
we provide a colouring picture outline in advance to help them practice more effectively and streamline the process.
Activity: Face Sketching Competition
- Students will sketch a human face using a pencil.
- Judging criteria: Accuracy, shading, and overall presentation.
we provide the reference picture for the pencil arts competition. On the day of the competition, participants will receive a small-sized version of the image, which they must enlarge to A4 size.
Category 3: Ages 10 to 12
Activity: Computer Animation
- Duration: 1 to 2 minutes
Category 4: Ages 13 to 15
Activity: Computer Animation
- Duration: 2 to 3 minutes
Category 5: Age Above 17
Activity: Computer Animation
- Duration: 2.5 to 3.5 minutes
Activity Description:
Students (in groups of two) will create multimedia animations using text, images, audio, video, and animation tools. The animations should convey a significant message to society and reflect Sanmarga principles.
Sanmarga Principles
Sanmarga principles, established by Vallalar, are spiritual philosophies that guide individuals toward higher life goals. These principles emphasize moral values, honesty, equality, and spiritual growth.

- True Knowledge (Mei Gnanam):
- Understand the unity between the soul and the divine.
- Recognize that everything is a manifestation of the same divine power.
- Simple Living:
- Lead a moderate lifestyle.
- Live with simplicity and assist others.
- Arutperunjothi:
- Realize God as the form of grace.
- Unite the soul with the divine light (Jothi).
- Feeding the Hungry:
- Provide food to those who are hungry.
- Vallalar emphasized that feeding the hungry is the simplest form of divine service.
- Humanitarianism:
- Develop a mindset of helping others.
- Recognize and address the suffering of living beings.
- Rejection of Discrimination:
- Reject caste, religion, and other biases, and establish spiritual freedom.
Key Judging Criteria:
- Creativity and originality in conveying the message.
- Effective use of multimedia tools (visual and audio elements).
- Alignment with Sanmarga principles.
- Technical precision (smooth animation and synchronization).
